Changing the palette ever so slightly

I changed the palette ever so slightly
and it brought more "warmth" to the pastels...
So soft... I see much use of felt in soft delicious pastel tones ...wool felt...
Needle cases, journal covers, bags of small and bigger sizes ...quilts as they fit in with a stitchery you are working on....

The Lady Buttons

Her name is Joy
and she dresses in many colours.
I have drawn in permanent ink and painted a couple of flowers on the dresses..

Below are 3 girls from the 2006 designs for

A Day in Paris stitcheries that ended up in a quilt>

I did some as brooches and then buttons for my main product range.

Here are the Paris Ladies with some divine vine leaf winged angels, that also have vine leaf sprigs cut in the dress.

Angels not only for Christmas but for everyday guidance with the garden, or sewing....their wings are so delicately cut

Freda, was named after my mother when she was designed some years ago as a button.

I had some cut as I a, always love her stylish look and b, it was to honour my mother's birthday in Febuary if she had lived on would have been 100....

She just loved an outing, in her later years any bus leaving town to go on some garden tour etc Freda was on it. She never lost that childhood excitement....

She would grace a journal cover, box, wall hanging, gift bags etc

Bunnies in Buttons

 Bunnies
Buttons I have designs over different stages...
not all have come back in for Easter...
but some were so eager to do a tour of flower gardens, kiss each other and generally have a fun time.
I only got a few of each design cut....and have arranged them on the packaging cards as sometimes little stories to give the imagination a start....
Now I wonder where one could put them...
An easter egg bag decorated with bunny buttons, a smaller gift bag to hold small eggs in and maybe one leaping bunny and a few stitched flowers....
Felt makes a wonderful back ground for my buttons too..

Painting on Water colour paper

I had a love affair for a few weeks drawing, inking in and painting on 300 gsm water colour paper....
this collage is due back in this week as a postcard....
and a
Poster ....
The ego of it
Sometimes I work so close in that small picture that to see my work reflected back from a bit of distance is rather wonderful.
I love the softness of the scenes.....
