Buttons Arrive in The Post again !

I so rarely come this way these days to blog.... although I do enjoy the process.
You see I do write stories in pictures and displays all of the time....and in my mind I write stories !

This picture is a display of my design work,
which I feel has a beautiful serenity to it.
Little paintings from the water colour paper series I embarked on when I was not able to paint buttons as I was travelling and later because the buttons were unable to be cut due to a covid sort of delay in bringing the laser beam to Australia from USA who were not shipping to us for some months,
Christmas fuss came & went for the first time in many years as the laser beam outgassed late October.
I did get new designs in decorations & buttons but because they were new I only did small runs of 10 !!!
It was another lesson like 2 years before when bushfire raged so close to where the buttons are cut.....
The uncertainity of life!

The Topiary trees
have been in my design stable for several years and I may do a new design for these.
I used them a lot in the water colour paper paintings.
They are placed in my new carding which shows off the buttons in sets now too under a hand painted little piece I did and printed on the linen card

Here was a simple mix of things to bring to people a button and fabric small pieces that are textured of course in mostly linen/cotton blends and I had stamped at one time or another and held them dear to me,,,
Suddenly one morning when I was tidying the table I suddenly thought...
These would look great as bits for slow stitching/ collages where one creates on a whim....

It is also wonderful to select buttons from my long portfolio of designs and painted them again.
The new carding brings me renewed pleasure. As carding buttons is not what I would call a rewarding exercise ....
But these cards bring me a sense of order maybe and serenity too.
Goodness knows my serenity in waiting out the decisions of ambitious political people running this country into another phase of covid is not bringing serenity.
Just another jab in my arm and keeping away from others again.... I draw the line of who shares germs with me....

Painted Piece printed

I decided to try a print run of the original painting I did
( with many others )
to see how it would look on a new linen postcard
I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived today.
Perfect for framing or using as a notecard to send a friend a small note....
or using as a gift card.... that has a future use if the recipient decides to pop it in a frame !
I love the feel of the card, being a tactile person I love to run my hand gently over surfaces and read the ?
Original was painted on water colour 300 gsm textured paper using permanent pen to draw in the story then I paint in acrylics.
Well there it is !
