Christmas Decorating

 I love little trees & these in particular...usually inexpensive and make useful spot displays

I have here a button of santa being led in the sleigh by a white deer and on the tree are boots I painted & some I added a ginger bread button or a deer button....just to see how they looked....

Using buttons to add to wood decorations is one way

Another is making small or even larger Christmas Stockings in felt...

Just stitch the stockings by hand, leave raw edges on show... pink them with shears perhaps....

Add buttons....

If you have a nice stash of my buttons that you are not so ready to give up just yet.... 

try this.... decorate a small tree or a twig from the garden

Then after Christmas you might need that button for another project or it becomes one you keep

 

CHRISTMAS TIME

Santas find themselves poking out of sweet boxes decorated with their reindeers...snowmen join in  the festive time too

A button can enhance a little box,

 lay on a gorgeous crystal plate beside more decorations, 

become a bon bon centre piece....

add to cards, notebooks etc...

Be my stocking to hang

A tag ...a cloth calico bag loves a stamp & a button !

 Cupcake paper holders are great for holding a display of Christmas buttons....

Look into the picture to see other ideas that can be magically transformed in the shortest of time.

 Some of the above are not all in this year's collections but now that I have disentangled myself to work for my own song at my own pleasure some may arrive back in a flurry of happiness.

THIS CURRENT YEARS COLLECTION

  Usually reds & greens with some painted decorating ...I changed some of the items into pastels.....

I love the way they are not overwhelmed by some of the fabric that is also patterened in the hoop.

Some are buttons & decorations, changing size and sometimes adding or taking away elements in the design.....happiness in red & white with a dash of green in always my favourite.....
